SHANGHAI -- DNV is opening a new software production center in Shanghai, China, in January 2008. The company plans to provide tailor-made software solutions to the shipping, offshore, and process industries in the region.

"China is currently number four globally as regards to software development," says Elling Rishoff, DNV Software's MD. "By combining the maritime know-how of DNV's maritime service centre in Shanghai with the software and IT competence of the new software production center we will be able to address key challenges facing the Chinese maritime industry in its way towards technology leadership."
