FORT WAYNE, Indiana -- Trelleborg Sealing Solutions has introduced an advanced range of PEEK (polyetheretherketone) manufacturing capabilities for sealing in severe conditions.
The materials can be manufactured to fit nearly any application, from basic components to the unique specifications that may be required for connectors, back-up rings, HAT rings, bearings, and seals. Through the process of injection molding into tubes or billets, PEEK material can be readied for shaping.
PEEK materials are partially crystalline, aromatic polyethers. These materials have important mechanical properties, such as resistance to wear, pressures, hydrolysis, and radiation. PEEK is commonly used in high-temperature and high-pressure applications, making it suitable for use in the extreme sealing environments of offshore applications.
