CHESTERFIELD, UK -- Single Buoy Moorings has contracted Cathelco to supply an impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) system for the FPSO OKHA.

Cathelco also has an order from Saipem Energy Services SpA for ICCP equipment to protect an oil tanker destined for use offshore Italy.

The equipment will provide the vessel with a 150 amp forward ICCP system and a 300 amp aft system. The forward system will use two 75 amp linear loop anodes and an arrangement of reference electrodes connected to a control panel -- the aft system will use four anodes. The Cathelco system also will protect the rudder, propeller, and mooring chains.
