ABERDEEN, UK -- RBG has unveiled a new hydraulic lightweight flange pulling tool. The device is operated by a hand pump or remotely powered hydraulic unit and can pull flanges from distances up to of 600 mm (24-in.), with an applied force of 20 metric tons (22 tons).

To complement the new flange tooling, the company also launched its upgraded Flange Management Software. The system advises on the correct bolt torque and tension values by recording flange behavior, modifications, and long-term activity. It provides an integrated point of reference for documentation, technical information, images and video that can be accessed remotely at any time, the company says.

The company has also formed a new marine and subsea division. By merging the company’s traditional marine and fabrication units, RBG now offers a complete subsea support package, from fabrication to deployment, construction support, and maintenance, the company says.
