Weatherford International has launched it new Compact Cross-Dipole Sonic tool to ensure delivery of data for seismic velocity models and also for a range of drilling, completion, and production uses related to rock deformation.

NEW ORLEANS -- Weatherford International has launched it new Compact Cross-Dipole Sonic tool to ensure delivery of data for seismic velocity models and also for a range of drilling, completion, and production uses related to rock deformation.

This is the only 2 1/4-in (5.7-cm) monopole/cross-dipole sonic tool that can be run with or without wireline to acquire compressional, shear-slowness, and fast-shear azimuth, according to Weatherford.
