ABERDEEN -- Kongsberg Maritime has won orders from Fugro for cameras and scanning sonars under an ROV sensor refurbishment and newbuild program.

The orders include over 140 underwater navigation and inspection video cameras, various lamps, and over 35 Kongsberg Mesotech obstacle avoidance scanning sonars. This consignment will include over 20 of the new low-light OE13-124/5 BIT navigation cameras and six ultra high resolution imaging sonars.

The equipment will be installed both on Fugro's existing global fleet of Work, Intermediate and Observation Class ROVs, and on the new Fugro FCV 3000 and FCV 2000 Work Class ROV systems under construction in Singapore.

Kongsberg Maritime says the sensors will provide accurate navigation and inspection imaging support for offshore applications including construction support; inspection, repair and maintenance; pipeline and seabed surveys; and drilling rig support.
