OSLO, Norway -- Statoil has contracted Grenland Group to modify the water injection module on its Gullfaks B platform in the Norwegian North Sea.

The platform delivers processed oil and gas from the Gullfaks field to the Gullfaks A and Gullfaks C installations, for further offloading of oil to shuttle tankers and gas exports through a pipeline to the onshore terminal at Kårstø.

Works on the $63.8-million contract has already started, with completion scheduled for June 2012.
