Awilco Drilling has contracted STEP Offshore, a subsidiary of Aker Solutions, to provide mud-mixing and solids control systems to the drilling rig Arctic II.

OSLO -- Awilco Drilling has contracted STEP Offshore, a subsidiary of Aker Solutions, to provide mud-mixing and solids control systems to the drilling rig Arctic II.
The $2.03-million contract involves upgrades and additions to the existing mud mixing and solids control kit, leading to improvements in the rig’s drilling efficiency and HSE standards.
All equipment deliveries and upgrade work will be effected while the rig undergoes a major upgrade program at the Remontowa shipyard in Gdansk, Poland.
The project has started, and should be completed early next year.
