BRUNEI DARUSSALAM -- Brunei Shell Petroleum (BSP) has awarded the Wood Group joint venture SKSWood a two-year extension to an integrated service contract. The scope of services includes work preparation and scheduling, fabrication, materials handling, electrical and instrumentation, and offshore execution.

The newly extended contract could generate over 1 million man-hours of offshore work, and employment for 1,200 personnel. These will include more local employment opportunities and what SKSWood calls “partner enhancement of the Brunei Supply Chain”.

Since 2003, SKSWood has performed offshore construction and maintenance for around 200 offshore assets for BSP.

SKSWood, formed in 1982 in Brunei, comprises Syarikat Kejuruteraan Sistematik Sdn. Bhd., Petrokon Utama Sdn. Bhd., and Wood Group. The venture provides equipment and services for offshore construction; and structural repairs and maintenance, including construction engineering, mechanical and structural fabrication, installation, inspection, commissioning, and electrical/instrument activities.
