HOUMA, Louisiana -- Crossmar Inc. has completed 13 thruster replacements on semisubmersible rigs for various clients. The dynamically positioned Crossmar 21 DP-3 and the Crossmar 7 provide alternatives for these operations due to available deck space and onboard crane capacities.
The Crossmar barges offer greater vessel width, deck space, and crane capacity than standard supply vessels. This allows maintenance and diving crews to work in adverse conditions and still have space to safely launch, retrieve, and stow the thrusters on the deck.
In addition to removal and installation, Crossmar’s multi-purpose barges are able to transport thrusters to and from rigs.
