ABERDEEN, UK -- Petrofac Brownfield has installed a new module for the Wood field development on Talisman Energy's Montrose platform. The 1,200 metric ton Wood and Gas Export compression module was transported by barge from HSM Steel Structure's yard in Schiedam, and lifted onto the platform by Heerema's crane barge Thialf.

Wood's gas will be sent to the UK mainland via the Central Area Transmission System (CATS). Eventually Montrose's associated gas – flared until now – will also be compressed and exported, via the new facilities. Petrofac's scope on this project included 75,000 hours of offshore work and 45,000 work-hours onshore.
