Schat-Harding to refurbish Ekofisk field lifeboats

ConocoPhillips has awarded Schat-Harding a contract to refurbish nine lifeboats for the Ekofisk field.

ROSENDAL, Norway -- ConocoPhillips has awarded Schat-Harding a contract to refurbish nine lifeboats for the Ekofisk field. The boats will to be upgraded to meet today's stability standards and will be refitted with Schat-Harding LHR6 on-load release hooks.
The boats are MCR28 and MCR30 conventional davit launched types, built by Harding Safety in the 1980s. Work started in March and will be completed in 40 weeks, the company says.
