IJMUIDEN, the Netherlands -- Offshore Solutions has installed its first Offshore Access System (OAS) in the central North Sea. Designed to operate in 2.5 m (8.2 ft) Hs (significant wave height) sea states, the OAS is mounted onboard platform supply vessel FD Incredible, which has been chartered by Chevron as an accommodation vessel.
Chevron Upstream Europe awarded Offshore Solutions a six-month contract to support the safe transfer of personnel to its normally unmanned Erskine installation in the UKCS.
The vessel is equipped with a class two dynamic positioning system (guaranteeing the ship's stable position), clear deck space, a contractor health, environment and safety management (CHESM) "A" rating, and bedding for twenty-two working crew.
