ST. LOUIS, Missouri -- Emerson Process Management is preparing for the startup of Bohai Bay Phase II oil production by engineering and commissioning PlantWeb digital architecture across six platforms and the FPSO Peng Bo.

Emerson is engineering and installing PlantWeb digital automation architecture for process control and asset management, and is integrating these with shutdown and fire and gas systems on the platforms, FPSO, and across all facilities. Emerson’s DeltaV digital automation system is on each of the seven Phase II facilities. The DeltaV system is the core resource for digital integration, the company says. It also provides centralized monitoring and human interface of the entire field from one platform, with the FPSO providing backup.

PlantWeb architecture will also network field instrumentation including Emerson’s Rosemount measurement instruments and Daniel metering systems. Emerson’s AMS Suite will enable predictive diagnostics through continuous monitoring of field instrumentation, allowing personnel to detect and repair impending failures before they affect production.
