GLASGOW, UK -- VWS Westgarth has loaded out the membrane pre-filtration module for the FPSO Plazflor’ssulfate removal (SRP) water treatment system from the Dyna-Mac fabrication yard in Singapore. The system is destined for the block 17 development, offshore Angola.
VWS Westgarth’s membrane filtration system provides a complete barrier against particles larger than approximately 0.1 µ, removing almost all that lead to SRP fouling and plant downtime due to membrane cleaning, the company says.
The specialist sulfate removal process uses a membrane-based system that removes sulfates and other divalent ions from the injection seawater to prevent the formation of barium sulfate and strontium sulfate scale in the subsea injection piping system and in the reservoir itself.
