GOLETA, California -- Bardex has completed factory acceptance tests of the Prirazlomnaya rig skidding system. Representatives from contract party JSC PO Sevmash and end user Gazprom Neft Shelf approved the tests. Bardex has shipped the rig skidding system for the offshore ice-resistant platform, which is destined for installation in the Pechora Sea.
The skidding system comprises two 550-metric ton gripper jacks for skidding the lower supporting frame, two 280-metric ton gripper jacks for skidding the upper derrick base, and a 60 kW hydraulic power unit with integrated skidding controls. The gripper jacks are designed to function in the -40° C extreme cold of the Russian winter.
The complete package including start-up/commissioning and operating spare parts has met Gost-R and other regulatory Russian requirements and has received a certificate of conformity.
