SAN JOSE, California -- RAE Systems has made three enhancements to its MeshGuard, wireless, toxic-gas monitoring system.

• The MeshGuard LEL provides flammability, or "lower explosive limit" monitoring for methane and other flammable drilling and oil and gas exploration gases.

• The MeshGuard Sulfur Dioxide provides real-time detection for drilling and production sites where sulfur is a by-product.

• The PowerPak is a new high-capacity battery pack that enables MeshGuard monitor operation on a single charge.

The MeshGuard wireless sensors interface with the FMC 2000 Controller. Each MeshGuard monitor's integral radio has a range of 300 m (1,000 ft).

The MeshGuard monitors can be mounted magnetically or in protective stainless-steel housings, and each unit has both audible and visible (flashing light) alarm signals. The sensors are weather resistant with an IP 65 rating. All of monitors in the MeshGuard family meet safety standards in the US, Canada (C1D1, Groups A, B,C, D, T4), and Europe (ATEX IM1/II iG Ex ia I/IIC T4), as well IECEx Ex ia I/IIC T4.
