ST PAUL, Minneapolis -- Johnson Screens has licensed the CoMag and BioMag technologies from Cambridge Water Technology Inc. The license provides exclusive use of ballasted flocculation and sedimentation processes for the treatment of process and produced water in the oil and gas, mining and aggregate, and hydrocarbon processing industries.
CoMag technology is able to remove particulate as small as 10 microns to produce a high quality effluent that meets regulatory discharge permits or production requirements. With low retention cycles and a small footprint, CoMag systems solve the growing problem of water management for oilfield produced water, coalbed methane production and frac fluid recycling while reducing the environmental impact of oilfield drilling and production operations, the company says.
The BioMag technology employs ballasted sedimentation to enhance the capacity and soluble contaminant removal processes of biological water treatment systems.
