BOULOGNE-BILLANCOURT, France– Vallourec’s VAM 21 premium threaded tubular connections are winning orders in the Middle East.

In February, the company won various orders for applications offshore Qatar covering sizes in the range of 5-14 in. (12.7-35.6 cm) diameter.

In May, the company signed two orders for VAM 21 connections in Saudi Arabia for installation in exploration wells (shallow and deep offshore) in the northern part of the Red Sea, close to the Gulf of Suez.

According to Vallourec, VAM 21 is the sole connection qualified to new standards for offshore applications, including ISO13679 FDIS-2011 CAL-IV.

The threaded and coupled system is designed to withstand high temperatures and pressures, and strong axial loads. It is also suited to drilling with casing conditions, and extended reach wells.
