DALLAS -- Flowserve has developed the Flowserve Valtek StealthT, a patented gaseous noise trim that reduces sound pressure levels. Laser-cut discs form channels for the fluid to pass through. They are stacked to form the seat retainer which allows flow, creating gradual controlled pressure drops, says the company.

"Three years of field service have proven the technologies behind Stealth's advanced design," says Bradford Haines, product manager at Flowserve. "We've developed a highly effective device capable of reducing noise up to 40 decibels in severe service where noise and excessive vibration can damage both human hearing and equipment."

Flowserve says the Stealth trim noise attenuator combines pressure reduction, velocity control, and noise elimination features to reduce the noise caused by high pressure drops.
