Aker, Daewoo agree to drilling equipment contracts

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. in South Korea has awarded Aker MH AS two contracts to deliver identical drilling equipment packages for two new drillships.

LYSAKER, Norway -- Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. in South Korea has awarded Aker MH AS two contracts to deliver identical drilling equipment packages for two new drillships. The contract value for Aker Solutions totals approximately $260 million.

Aker Solutions will deliver complete drilling equipment packages consisting of engineering, equipment deliveries, and commissioning services.

Daewoo will manufacture both the Odebrecht I and Odebrecht II drillships, for Odebrecht. The first drillship is scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2011 and the second in 2Q 2011.
