CSD to supply pipe penetration seals to North Sea platforms

GILFORD, New Hampshire -- CSD Sealing Systems is supplying over 2,000 pipe penetration seals to oil and gas platforms in the North Sea.

This is the first major upgrade of its kind within the UK sector of the North Sea, according to CSD. It involves replacing seals with the company's advanced RISE flexible pipe penetration sealing systems.

RISE will provide fire, gas, and watertight protection as pipes pass through the bulkheads and decks of the oil and gas platforms, as well as, blast protection as they go through blast walls. Unlike the seals currently being used on the platforms, the RISE systems ensure that there will be no corrosion on the pipes, as water cannot penetrate the seals, CSD says.
