Saudi Aramco buys 14 helicopters

Saudi Aramco has purchased 14 new helicopters to serve Saudi Aramco's offshore oil and gas operations, security surveillance, and transportation needs.

RAS TANURA, Saudi Arabia -- Saudi Aramco has purchased 14 new helicopters to serve Saudi Aramco's offshore oil and gas operations, security surveillance, and transportation needs.

Saudi Aramco is replacing its Bell 214ST, 212, and 412, with the newly purchased AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters.

The AW139 has an advanced avionics system and four-axis autopilot and is able to perform offshore and hoist loads with high safety margins and endurance.
