OSLO, Norway – South Korean shipyards have contracted Aker Solutions for Pusnes offshore loading systems for shuttle tankers that will operate off Brazil and Norway.
The total contract value is around $26.6 million.
Aker Solutions will supply Pusnes bow loading systems for 10 Suezmax shuttle tankers. Eight are under construction for various ship-owners, and will operate offshore Brazil.
The other two will operate for a Norwegian ship-owner at the Goliat field development in the Barents Sea.
The Pusnes bow loading system is designed to provide a safe, secure connection for the hose to the shuttle tanker, which can be quickly and safely disconnected if needed, without causing surge loads in the hose.
Deliveries will occur during 2012 and 2013.
