ROTTERDAM. The Netherlands -- Fairstar Heavy Transport NV (FAIR) has won a contract from Grinaker - LTA Construction Nigeria to transport equipment to the Chevron EGTL plant in Escravos, Nigeria.
The semisubmersible vessel Fjord left Rotterdam on Friday and is sailing to a rendezvous point close to the plant. The $900,000 contract involves a total of six transportation/project days.
Chris Muilwijk of Fairstar said: “No other vessel…can match the Fjord’s combination of shallow draft and huge deck space.”
