Fisher Offshore, Load Systems to supply wireless monitoring for offshore winches, cranes

OLDMELDRUM, UK – Fisher Offshore is teaming up with Load Systems UK to provide wireless monitoring products and technology for the offshore winch and crane industry.

Fisher operations manager Jack Davidson said: “Traditional cable-based systems can be restrictive and are susceptible to accidental damage, ultimately resulting in loss of displays which can jeopardize multi-million pound work scopes. We believe this innovation will remove these potential risks immediately and further increase operational seasons offshore.”

The wireless products use a unique two-way spread spectrum radio frequency with an operating range of 1,300 m (4,265 ft) and a two-year battery life. This allows multiple systems to operate simultaneously, with a further option of a single base station.
