Stabil Drill opens Azerbaijan facility

Stabil Drill, a Superior Energy Services company, has opened a full-service facility in Baku, Azerbaijan to supply downhole drilling equipment. The company opened the office to supply tool rental, repair, and maintenance services through a joint venture with Caspian Oil Services.

Stabil Drill, a Superior Energy Services company, has opened a full-service facility in Baku, Azerbaijan to supply downhole drilling equipment. The company opened the office to supply tool rental, repair, and maintenance services through a joint venture with Caspian Oil Services.

Stabil Drill says the location will offer stabilizers, subs, hole openers, roller reamers, and non-magnetic drill collars. The facility is API- and ISO 9002-certified. At the location, the company will also refurbish equipment according to American Pipe Institute (API) specifications.

"We have supplied tools to projects in Azerbaijan, a country where petroleum resources are largely undeveloped," Sammy Russo, Stabil Drill CEO, says.

Last year, Azerbaijan produced an estimated 312,800 b/d.
