Offshore staff

(Europe) - Cromarty Firth Port Authority has been selected as the preferred bidder in the sale of KBR's offshore fabrication complex in Nigg, northeast Scotland.

The yard includes one of Europe's largest graving docks, with 350 acres of land.

Until the UK fabrication sector went quiet, the site produced some of the North Sea's largest topsides facilities.

Cromarty's Chairman Jimmy Gray comments, "This is an opportunity to expand our well-established and thriving business in the offshore industry, heavy engineering, renewable energy, and short sea shipping."

Nearby, the Invergordon Service Base is a leading drilling rig support center.
