Subsea joint venture

(Aberdeen) - Sonsub in Aberdeen and Oslo-based Aker Marine Contractors (AMC) have signed a co-operation agreement, under which they will team up to seek subsea construction and decommissioning assignments.

The agreement, initially lasting three years, will see both parties deploying services, vessels and equipment. Their main focus will be in the North Sea, deepwater GoM, and West Africa.

Among their pooled resources will be vessels such as theBoa Deep C I, Boa Deep C II, and the Normand Cutter. Sonsub's managing director Giorgio Martelli commented: "Our combined strengths will allow greater technical challenges to be met, together with a more optimized deployment of our combined resources."
