HOUSTON  Woodside Energy has awarded McDermott an EPC contract to remove the disconnectable turret mooring buoy from the Stybarrow Field, 51 km offshore in Western Australia’s northwest Cape region.

This forms part of the Stybarrow decommissioning process. The FPSO that produced oil from the Stybarrow and Eskdale reservoirs was removed in 2015.

McDermott’s team in Perth will provide project management for the recovery, transportation and offloading of the buoy to an onshore yard facility for dismantling and disposal.

Other teams in Kuala Lumpur and Batam, Indonesia, will provide engineering and fabrication support. McDermott's DLV2000 vessel will lift and remove the buoy.
