HOUSTON – Polymers distributor BARplast will showcase its specialty thermoplastics and thermosetting polymers the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC).
On display will be AURUM, a thermoplastic polyimide from Mitsui Chemicals, which has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 245°C (473°F) with temperature resistance and insulation properties.
It can be processed using powder coating, injection molding and extrusion. One application is for high-performance electric motors.
Other highlights of the stand will include various thermosetting polyimides (such as DAELIM PLAVIS), PEEK compounds and R-PEEK.
BARplast works with producers such as Mitsui Chemicals, Daelim and LEHVOSS to deliver thermoplastics and thermosetting polymers for various applications.
The company is a subsidiary of the BIEGLO Group in Hamburg, Germany.
