TOKYO, Japan— MODEC will perform the FEED for the FPSO for Exxon Mobil’s Uaru development in the Stabroek Block offshore Guyana.
The company will also take steps to secure its second M350TM newbuild design hull for FPSO service.
Following completion of the FEED, government approvals and final investment decision by Exxon Mobil and its partners, MODEC expects to construct the FPSO and install it at the offshore location.
The company will likely operate the vessel for an initial 10-year period, with options for an extension.
Uaru’s FPSO will produce 250,000 bbl/d of oil, with associated gas treatment capacity of 540 MMcf/d, water injection at 350,000 bbl/d, and crude storage of about 2 MMbbl.
This will be MODEC’s first FPSO for a project in Guyana, and its 18th FPSO/FSO delivered to South America.
