HydraTyphon addresses well cementing issues

TANANGER, Norway –HydraWell has introduced HydraTyphon, a downhole tooling system designed to improve reliability in problematic well conditions.
These include high cement content in annuli, shallow barrier depth and large annuli.
According to the company, the technology combines the benefits of jet and cup-based washing and cementing systems, leading to reduced perforating and operating costs.
In 2008 the company developed its Perforation, Wash & Cement (PWC) technology which it claims can cut the operational sequence by up to six days compared to the conventional section milling alternative. HydraTyphon is an evolution of PWC.
