OSLO, Norway – DNV GL is teaming up with SAP SE on a new cloud service, Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Manager, addressing integrity of oil and gas installations.
The solution, like others built and run on the open SAP Cloud Platform, makes use of technologies, such as artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to digitalize and automate operations.
According to DNV GL, CUI represents the highest single maintenance cost for offshore installations with insulated pipes.
DNV GL has developed a new risk-based methodology, published a new recommended practice and used the insights to create an interface with the CUI Manager, which is said to continuously assess and calculate CUI risk.
This is said to help integrity engineers and managers act to prevent failure, increase safety, and manage hidden threats.
CUI Manager optimizes asset strategy and planning by providing detailed insights into current and planned risk and the resulting costs. Integration with SAP Asset Strategy and Performance Management is said to facilitate calculation and visualization of the full risk picture, using SAP Cloud Platform.
