ECOnnect orders Allum LNG transfer system for Colombia FSRU
Allum Engineering will supply the gas balcony for ECOnnect Energy’s IQuay F-Class jettyless LNG transfer system for a gas import terminal in Colombia.
The IQuay technology is said to enable transfer of LNG, ammonia, and hydrogen, or CO₂ for Carbon Capture and Storage, at locations typically considered unsuitable for these operations.
Allium’s gas balcony will be installed on a large LNG carrier that will serve as a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) at the terminal.
The structure will connect the FSRU to the two risers and will also house the emergency shut off system. It is based on the same design for the gas balcony that Allum and Notech delivered to ECOnnect Energy's Wilhelmshaven FSRU project in northern Germany in 2023.
Notech will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly and transport to Larvik Harbor in Norway, with delivery to Colombia planned by the end of this year.
