Odfjell Technology takes well services to Australia, Asia-Pacific
Odfjell Technology has formed a cooperation with R&D Solutions, an Australia-based energy industry equipment and services provider, to help grow its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
In March 2022, the decision was taken to split Odfjell Drilling and spin off several of the business areas. Odfjell Technology was born, and Odfjell Well Services became the Well Services division of Odfjell Technology.
Odfjell Technology has formed a cooperation with privately owned R&D Solutions, an Australia-based energy industry equipment and services provider, to help grow its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.
Under the arrangement, Odfjell will offer its well intervention services, wellbore clean-up and whipstock tools to support Australian well services operations and deepwater activity, and the region’s P&A* sector.
Perth-based R&D Solutions provides drilling, completion, flow control, intervention tools and services to the oil and gas and geothermal industries in Australia, Asia, North America and Europe.
From the first signature on a lease, offshore operators know that they will have to clean up the area after they drill and produce hydrocarbons (oil and natural gas) and decommission the facilities and structures placed on the leased area, also called plug and abandonment (P&A).
