ABERDEEN, UK – Britain’s Unite union says its members working at Total’s Shetland gas plant have accepted an improved pay offer.
The facility receives gas from the Laggan-Tormore pipelines west of Shetland.
Under the new deal staff will receive a base salary increase and a retention bonus, and their current rota will be retained on the basis of 168 working days, with a commitment not to introduce ‘negative’ changes to the rota over the next three years.
In June, 96.9% of Unite members at the plant had backed industrial action.
Other offshore members working on the Alwyn, Elgin and Dunbar platforms in the UK northern North Sea remain in dispute with operator Total E&P UK.
