Insensys and 2H Offshore have begun a collaborative relationship to deliver riser and umbilical monitoring solutions. Deepwater riser systems are complex dynamic structures with multiple interfaces and design constraints arising from hardware, installation, and operational requirements. Design optimization relies heavily on engineering experience and application of sophisticated analysis and design methods.

Insensys, a provider of fiber-optic measurement systems, says it has developed the world's first low-power, solid-state, subsea-deployable system capable of supporting hundreds of fiber-optic sensors. The company says this capability enables the delivery of robust and reliable riser measurement systems for pre-installation or retrofit.

2H, a UWG Group company, designs and supplies riser monitoring systems using low power micro-controller motion sensors.
