Technip wins subsea contract for Norne
Statoil has awarded Technip Offshore Norge AS a contract for the subsea portion of the Norne satellites project in the Norwegian North Sea. The contract, valued at NKr90 million, includes fabrication and installation of a 9-km 12.6-in. internal diameter (ID) production flowline and a 12-km 5-in. ID gas lift flowline. The production flowline will be cladded internally with 316L stainless steel and installed with a heat tracing cable. This will be the first clad pipe installed using the reel pipelay method.
Technip's Oslo office is responsible for project engineering. The flowlines will be fabricated at the company's welding base in Orkanger and installed by theApache vessel next summer.
This award follows previous contract awards for Kristin, Snøhvit and Åsgard Q.
