Clough Engineering of Australia received a Notice of Award of contract from ONGC on Nov. 30 for G1-GS15 field offshore in the KrishnaGodavari basin. The $215.35 million contract is for the production of 1 million tonnes of low-sulphur crude oil and 6 bcm of natural gas over the expected field life of 15 years.

The G1 field is 28 km offshore in 135-500 m of water. Five production wells will be drilled and produced with subsea completions. Dual subsea pipelines rising from 429 m water depths will transport well fluids to processing facilities onshore. Development of GS 15, a shallow-water field lying 5 km offshore, is integrated with the project.

G1/GS15 development will create India's first "digital oil and gas field," incorporating remotely monitored and controlled smart wells. The project was developed by ONGC with consultancy from INTEC.
