Consent for use of Stena Don on Norne

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Statoil ASA consent for use of the mobile drilling installation Stena Don on the Norne field, production license 128.

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Statoil ASA consent for use of the mobile drilling installationStena Don on the Norne field, production license 128.

On July 1, 2003, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate granted Statoil ASA its consent for use ofStena Don for drilling on Norne. The new consent means that Statoil also can drill side-tracks in well 6608/10 B-4CH and carry out intervention work in well E-4H.

TheStena Don installation has largely been involved in drilling and completion in this area since it started its contract with Statoil at the beginning of 2002.

Statoil has also used the installation to drill exploration wells in the same area.
