HOUSTON -- UK-based oilfield service company Expro used the opening day of the Offshore Technology Conference on April 30 as a forum to announce its new identity.

Graeme Coutts, CEO, said Expro has been growing organically and through acquisitions and that the latest acquisition, PowerWell Services, was the catalyst for the new entity and the reason for changing the company's branding.

Expro's Trevor Burgess told reporters Expro's change in identity is a move toward consolidating its offerings for the industry. "We now operate as a single identity," he said, noting that the change is not just cosmetic. "It defines our place in the market."

Burgess explained that the new organization allows Expro to offer a suite of services instead of isolated offerings.

Expro has been a leader in subsea wells, Burgess said, and has a track record for providing engineered solutions in remote and demanding environments. The new organization allows Expro to target new marketing areas, Burgess said, including well testing and commissioning, production systems, wireline intervention, connectors and measurements, and drilling chokes.

According to Burgess, the new brand establishes the expanding company as a single entity in the industry and allows the components that make up the company to follow a single vision and form one unifying culture. "It's the focus on service and performance that sets us apart," Burgess said. "Our culture is defined by service, performance, and innovation."

The new Expro goes far deeper than a new logo and a new look, Burgess said. "It's not just a re-paint job."
