STAVANGER, Norway --Dresser-Rand Group is supplying turbomachinery for the new semisubmersible platform on Statoil/Hydro's Gjøa field development in the North Sea.

The $50 million order covers supply of three Datum centrifugal compressor trains driven by variable-speed electric motors, and one Datum compressor package driven by a D-R Vectra 40G gas turbine. The former will provide recompression, and the latter will be used for export compression.

The power turbine-driven equipment includes a dry low emission system and a waste heat recovery unit. The 30 MW rated package is a single-lift design. Both sets of equipment will be full-load string tested at Dresser-Rand's facility in Le Havre, northern France. Gjøa, due to start up in 2010, will export most of its gas to Scotland via the UK's Flags pipeline system.
