PTTEP wins blocks off New Zealand

PTT Exploration and Production Plc. and partners have won six exploration blocks offshore New Zealand in the Great South basin.

BANGKOK, Thailand --PTT Exploration and Production Plc. and partners have won six exploration blocks offshore New Zealand in the Great South basin.

The exploration packages cover 18,000 sq km (6,950 sq mi) of blocks 11 and 12, 9,000 sq km (3,475 sq mi) of block 13, and 27,000 sq km (10,425 sq mi) of blocks 5, 6, and 14.

The partnership comprises OMV New Zealand Ltd. who will be the operator, with 36% interest, PTTEP Offshore Investment Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of PTTEP with 36% interest, and Mitsui E&P Australia with 28% interest.
