Qatar -- Qatar Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell incorporated the Qatar Liquefied Gas Co. Ltd. (4), which will own the Qatargas 4 project's onshore and offshore assets.

At the same time, a sale and purchase agreement with a Shell affiliate as buyer of all the LNG produced by this project was signed.

Qatargas 4 is expected to produce 1.4 bcf/d of natural gas, 24,000 b/d of LPG, and 46,000 b/d of condensate from Qatar's North Field over the 25-year life of the project.

Qatargas 4 LNG volumes are intended to flow primarily into natural gas markets in the eastern United States.

"Our involvement in Qatargas 4 is fully aligned with our broader strategy of working in partnership with Qatar to develop its natural gas resources and further strengthens our well-established relationship," says Jeroen van der Veer, CEO of Royal Dutch Shell.
