SHANGHAI -- The CCS-DNV Technology Institute, a joint venture between the China Classification Society (CCS) and Det Norske Veritas (DNV), has been inaugurated in Shanghai.
The institute, which is the first of its kind in China, aims to support the maritime and offshore industries on laboratory and research challenges, according to DNV. The first phase of the project focuses on coating testing to respond to the IMO rules on PSPC.
"DNV and CCS both focus on quality and technology and we all invest huge in research and development," says Li Kejun, chairman and president of CCS. "This cooperation between the two parties will definitely enhance the fast development of the Chinese shipping and offshore industry and will further contribute to the world maritime industry."
