New Zealand grants exploration extensions

The government of New Zealand has granted a new exploration permit at Maui and extended the Pohokura appraisal period.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand –The government of New Zealand has granted a new exploration permit at Maui and extended the Pohokura appraisal period.

Shell Todd Oil Services operates Maui for Shell Exploration New Zealand, OMV, and Todd Energy, and will operate the new PEP 38 1203, a 213 sq km (82 sq mi) on the southeast edge of Maui gas field.

STOS is required to reprocess and interpret 50 sq km (19 sq mi) of 3D seismic data covering part of the new permit.

The Pohokura partners got a four-year extension of the appraisal period for Okoki structure west of the existing Pohokura production wells.

Shell Exploration NZ Ltd. operates PEP 38 459 for partners OMV New Zealand and Todd Pohokura Ltd.
