HAUGESUND, Norway -- DeepOcean has ended negotiations with Reliance after failing to reach agreement for the provision of a multi-purpose subsea support vessel and associated services.

According to the company, "DeepOcean and Reliance Industries have not managed to agree on a number of outstanding operational and technical issues that have been negotiated" since a letter of award was received in August 2007.

DeepOcean will no longer take the vesselREM Etive on charter as previously announced.
