STAVANGER, Norway --Statoil has contracted the D&F group for insulation and surface treatment services for offshore and onshore installations.

The $106.64 million contract, placed on behalf of Gassco, runs from 2007 through 2011, and relates to the Draupner platforms in the North Sea and the gas processing complex in Kaarsto. Both are owned by the Gassled joint venture, with Gassco as operator, and Statoil as technical service provider.

Kaarsto has been in operation since 1985. The existing insulation and surface areas require an extensive program of replacement and upgrading. Work will start in the oldest part of the complex, and will be conducted in parallel with regular maintenance.
