OSLO, Norway --Norway's Ministry of Petroleum and Energy has pre-qualified Bayerngas Norge as a licensee on the Norwegian continental shelf.
Bayerngas is a gas-focused exploration and production company formed last year with offices in Lysaker in Oslo. Its parent company, based in Munich, owns 1,300 km (808 mi) of high pressure gas pipelines and a large underground storage facility, and is mainly involved in gas transport, storage, and distribution.
Norway's authorities have established the pre-qualification regime to attract a wider range of competent companies to the Norwegian shelf.
